Dental Care for Patients with Medical Sensitivity
Medically sensitive patients are defined as patients having systemic diseases besides dental problems. As the age distribution of the Hungarian population - just like in most Western European countries - is moving towards the elderly, the number of patients under continuous medication is increasing.
It is a well-known fact that the number of diabetis patients is also growing, just like the number of people with hypertension and vasoconstriction. A very high rate of the population is taking certain medicines constantly or termporarily (eg. blood pressure suppressors, blood thinners, various painkillers, etc).
Careful examination of the oral cavity can reveal signs of systemic disease. Furthermore, these patients also want to keep their own teeth, so they require a high level of dental care.
